Ariel Atom V8 Uncovered

Ariel has just released pictures of its latest creation: the Atom V8.

This will be Ariel’s most powerful car ever, with the 3.0 litre V8 producing over 475 bhp.

This means that it will a have a power to weight ratio of 909 bhp per tonne, over twice that of a Bugatti Veyron.

Ariel say that two versions of the car will be available: a 475 bhp version made for day-to-day use, and a 500 bhp race version aimed more at track use.

Either way, the insane power will allow it to get from 0-60 in around 2.3 seconds, 0-100 in less than six seconds, and up to top speeds of 170 mph and 200 mph respectively.

Only 25 cars will be built and each will cost £150,000.
