Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will have 580 bhp
Unveiled at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, it was originally suggested that the car would only have 550 bhp, but Camaro fans are delighted an extra 30 bhp has been squeezed out of the 6.2 litre engine.
550 lb/ft of torque is also on tap from the V8, originally taken from the Cadillac CTS-V.
And according to Camaro, the new car will be significantly better, in mechanical terms, than the old model. For example, it will have track orientated cooling systems, magnetic ride shock absorbers, and a limited slip differential, not to mention Michelin Pilot Sport Cup.
