CR-Z Mugen will go into Production

Honda has announced production the Honda CR-Z Mugen iCF,

After Honda Mugen’s successful launch at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the motoring world was disappointed when Honda said that, in actual fact, there would be no joint project between Honda and Mugen on the CR-Z, despite the successful launch.

But thankfully, Honda has finally given in – the iCF has a Mugen modified 1.5 litre engine with 175 bhp, as well as the standard electric motor.

The top speed is estimated to be over 130 mph, and the break horse power has more than doubled over the standard CR-Z, and now stands at 175 bhp.

Martin Moll, Head of Honda UK marketing, said “Mugen magic has created a super responsive, yet eco-conscious, model, building on our sporting credentials and giving us the ability to compete in the “hot hatch” marketplace as we move into 2012.”

Prices will start at £24,000 when the car goes on sale next spring.
