Ducati Sales Break Records

Ducati has released its sales figures for 2011 showing one of its best ever years.

Overall, Ducati sold 2345 bikes, the best year since 2003 and one of the best in the company’s history.

The brand also became the fastest growing company in the UK, with sales up over 2012 by 15.3%.

Tim Maccabee, Ducati UK MD commented “These results reflect not only the hard work of the Ducati UK team, but also the fantastic product and support from our colleagues in Bologna.

“Delivering the result in the UK would be impossible without our first class dealer network and of course and a big thank is due to every Ducati fan and customer in the UK.”

One of the reasons for Ducati’s success is that where previously 50% of their sales came from superbikes, because of the increase in sales with smaller bikes, Ducati introduced a number of cheaper alternatives,

Another strategy was to market track days at Silverstone and to introduce the Ducati 848 Challenge to the British Superbike Championship.
