Emerson Fittipaldi

Fittipaldi was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in December 1946.

He was born into motorsport, with his father working as a motor racing journalist and team boss, and his brother as a professional racing driver.

Emerson started to race karts as a teenager, and progressed from Formula Vee, to Formula Ford, Formula Three, and eventually Formula One for Team Lotus.

He won his first championship title in 1972 before moving to McLaren, where he won his second title in 1974.
