Gerry Kunz Dies Aged 84

Gerald Charles Kunz has died aged 84.

Gerry was the Manager of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ Exhibition Dept., but was also responsible for the SMMT Motor Show, Commercial Motor Show and the Smithfield Livestock Show.

As a result, he was awarded with the OBE for services to agriculture.

As well as his obvious services to organising motor shows, he had become something of a legend for allowing a Motor Show exhibitor to march a German “Ooompah” band through Earls Court and to play on their stand, much to the dismay of other exhibitors.

Gerry Kunz was born on 24 March 1927 and died 24 October 2011.
