Global Debut of New McLaren MP4-12C

It has recently been announced that the latest supercar from McLaren will have its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the start of July.

The MP4-12C will be a 200 mph-plus supercar, powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine producing around 600 horsepower and 433 lb-ft of torque. The engine is coupled to a McLaren seven speed Seamless Shift dual clutch gearbox (SSG) and it will get from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. Prices will range from £125,000 to £175,000, and it will be on sale from early 2011. An extra incentive for buyers will be that the new car has been co-developed by Formula One World Champions Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.

This is the first McLaren launched without a partnership with Mercedes since the legendary McLaren F1 which was launched in 1992. This car is also a tribute to the legendary 1981 Formula 1 MP4/1, that during the years become a legend in the Formula 1, hence the MP4-12C name.

McLaren has said that it will have a global network of 70 dealers, in England being London, Birmingham and Manchester. McLaren will confirm the details of its 23 first dealers before its debut at Goodwood next month.
