Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 Debuts
For 2013 there are 9 anniversaries to be celebrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including Aston Martin’s centenary, Porsche’s 60th anniversary, and the twentieth anniversary of the Festival itself.
There’s also an incredible list of drivers due to attend, but most important for the motoring community are the car debuts – some cars have yet to be seen in the metal outside of prototype form, let alone going full-chat on a hill climb.
Alongside the less expensive fast debuts such as the new Skoda Octavia VRS and the Nissan 370Z Nismo, the Alfa Romeo 4C will turn a wheel in public for the first time next to the Rolls Royce Wraith, Peugeot Onyx, Bertone Aston Martin Jet 2+2, Renault Twin’Run and the Maserati Ghibli.
By far the fastest car to have its debut at the Festival will be the new McLaren P1 (if you haven’t already, be sure to enter McLaren’s competition to ride in the P1 up the hill) – expect one of McLaren’s F1 drivers to be driving that.
There are some unfamiliar supercar names making a first appearance, too, including the Vuhl 05, Vencer Sarthe, and the SIN R1.
But the festival wouldn’t be complete, somehow, without a Ferrari, so Eric Clapton will be bringing his one-off SP12 EC along for the show.
Saturday tickets for the Festival have now all sold out, but tickets can still be bought for Friday and Sunday, as well as the Moving Motor Show on Thursday.
