Honda Civic Type R: FK8 v. FK2 – How Do They Compare?

Just two weeks before I drove the new FK8 Honda Civic Type R I was blessed with the chance to spend another week with the FK2 Type R, more specifically the Black Edition, one of the last 100 cars that rolled off the production line. It was a brilliant week, as I’m sure you can imagine, but more importantly it put me in the right frame of mind to get to grips with the FK8.

What you see here is my attempt to talk you through the FK8, discussing the changes and explaining how all those changes make the new car feel. Is the FK8 less exciting than the FK2 as some people have predicted? Is the FK8 what the FK2 should have been to begin with? I can’t answer those questions properly until I drive both on the same day on the same roads, but hopefully this little video will give you some idea.
