Longbridge Opens its Doors Once Again

The first car has left the doors at Longbridge, hailing the start of a new era for MG.

Longbridge, MG’s original manufacturing plant, closed in 2005 after Rover ran into financial difficulties.

One of the new MG6s was the first car to leave the gates today amongst great media interest, partly because of Longbridge’s return, but also because the MG6 is the first completely new MG since 1995.

MG is now owned by the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, which is the largest car maker in China.
