Motor Sport Magazine’s Bill Boddy Dies Aged 98

Bill Boddy, once Motor Sport Magazine’s editor, has died today at the age of 98.

Mr Boddy was the editor of the magazine for an incredible 55 years, from 1936 to 1991, but had written for it since 1930.

He had even written a column for the magazine just a few days before his death.

He became famous as a result of his journalism for Motor Sport Magazine, and was one of the figureheads in the campaign against the 70 mph national speed limit.

He wrote numerous books, and appeared both on television and on radio, and was awarded an MBE in 1977 for services to journalism.

The date for a memorial service will be announced shortly.

Bill Boddy, 1913-2011.
