Pristine Ford GT40 Goes on Sale

A fine example of what is arguably Ford’s greatest car has gone on sale in time for Christmas.

The 1966 Ford Superformance GT40 MK II has gone on sale with RK Motors of Charlotte at a price of $129,000.

Built by the Ed Wayland Company in North Carolina, 90% of the parts on the car are the same as the original GT40.

It has a Roush Performance 427IR engine producing 560 bhp and 540 lb/ft of torque, linked to a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres on 17 inch wheels by a six-speed manual gearbox.

The engine itself has just had $26,000 spent on it, and the gearbox $10,000.

And with just 1,326 miles on the clock, it’s a rare car indeed.
