Rumour: Alfa Romeo 4C to debut at Geneva 2013?
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything regarding the mid-engined Alfa Romeo 4C, but the latest speculative reports suggest that there might be a big announcement at the Geneva Motor Show next year.
Alleged insiders at Alfa Romeo claim that the 4C – which was shown as a concept car at last year’s Geneva Motor Show – is already in the advanced development stage, and will be making its debut at next year’s Geneva Show before it goes on sale closer towards the end of 2013.
The technical details of the 4C GTA Concept are also expected to be carried over to the production car, so the road-legal examples will supposedly feature a 1,750cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine with roughly 300bhp, whilst the extensive use of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre will bring the weight down to a very impressive 1,000kg.
It’s also said that a roadster variant is in the works, and will most likely make its public debut in 2014/2015.
