Siri Comes to Mercedes

Mercedes has unveiled a new system which has incorporated ‘Siri’ on the iPhone 4S into the information and communication system on the new A Class.

The system, which normally just links the phone call facility to the car’s voice control, has been modified to accept all the classic questions that had tech geeks pouring over the 4S at its launch, like “will I need an umbrella today?”

The ‘Drive Kit Plus’ will be available as part of the Mercedes-Benz’s Digital DriveStyle App, which also installs other apps, such as Twitter, Facebook, and the Aupeo Personal Radio. The Garmin sat-nav can also be controlled by Siri.

Don’t worry, Siri can’t take over your car and drive you into a lake; he’s simply there to answer any questions you may have, and make your journey a little less strenuous.
