Striking Mercedes Concept Style Coupé Pictures

Mercedes has unveiled the Concept Style Coupé ahead of its launch at Auto China in Beijing on Monday.

Supposedly, the concept points towards the ‘avantgarde design’ that will be introduced to new Mercedes over the coming decade, the car itself being ‘nonconformist, provocative and masculine’.

If it were to be built, no thumping great V8 would live under the bonnet – instead a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 211 bhp.

“The Concept Style Coupé is expressive and powerful in its design,” said Mercedes’ boss, Dr Dieter Zetsche.

“We are staking our claim very clearly here. This is the model against which sporty vehicles in the executive segment will have to measure themselves in future.”

Nice thought it is, the concept in this form will not make production, mainly because of safety regulations rather than the design itself, but with any luck the Concept Style, in one form or another, will make it onto the roads by 2015.
