Subaru Builds BRZ S, But Only For Australia

Subaru has announced it will be building tuned version of the BRZ, but that it will only be available in Australia.

Not only is it not available in Europe, but it’s not a ‘BRZ STI’; the car doesn’t have performance figure improving engine upgrades. As well as a stock engine, buyers get a stock exhaust and, unfortunately for STI fans, no turbo.

The only mechanical upgrades on the car have been made to the suspension, which is now stiffer and lower. All other improvements are cosmetic, with a new front splitter, rear diffuser, side skirts, alloy wheels, and a lightly refreshed interior.

For those enthusiastic drivers looking for a BRZ/GT86 with more power, you’ll have to stick to aftermarket tuning for the time being.

The upgrades cost $7,195 AUS for the automatic car, and $7,995 for the manual.
