The New Volvo C70 Inscription

Volvo has revealed the a special edition C70, the Inscription, which Volvo boasts is the “the world’s first four-seater convertible car with a three-piece folding hard top as standard.”

While that may not sound very impressive, the car itself does look rather good, and comes with special black 18-inch wheels, special ‘Inscription’ embroidered carpets, sports pedals and an all leather interior as standard.

Although the car isn’t really new, more of a spruce up on a car that’s been around for five years, it does look like a very attractive and cool four-seater convertible.

However, it’s only available with five-cylinder diesel engines: the D4, with 177 hp and400 Nm of torque, and the D3 with 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque. And it’s only available in three colours: Black Stone (Solid), Black Sapphire (Metallic) and Ice White (Solid).

Doug Speck, Senior Vice President Marketing says that “”The Inscription is based on our ‘human-centric’ Designed Around You philosophy, offering those customers who love convertibles and coupés a beautifully detailed version with a lot of kerb appeal.”

Only 2000 cars will be built worldwide each year, and orders in the UK can be placed mid-November with deliveries starting in February 2012.

The Inscription will have its debut at the 2011 Las Vegas Motor Show, starting on November 16th.
