Toyota Aygo ‘Fire and Ice’

Adding to the 2012 Aygo line up, Toyota has introduced two special edition cars: the ‘Fire’ and ‘Ice’ models.

Prices for basic Aygos start at £8,495, but the new models are considerably more expensive, with the Ice costing £9,895 and the fire costing £9,595, although the prices can rise north of £11k is you go mad with the options.

Redesigned for this year, the new Aygo follows on from the new design language seen in the latest Yaris. Not only does it sit lower to the ground than before, but it has a wider front air intake and LED daytime running lights making it look much more modern.

The new Aygo range sits under the 100g/km threshold for car tax and the London

14” alloys, front foglights, tinted windows, and a leather steering wheel and gear knob trim are included as standard on the Fire model, which comes with the special ‘Burnt Orange’ paint finish.

Unlike the Fire which focuses more on looking good, the Aygo Ice the emphasis on car comfort, entertainment and connectivity, and so comes with air conditioning, Alcantara and leather trim, a more powerful four-speaker sound system, Bluetooth and a USB connectivity.

Toyota offers an ‘Xtraprotected Pack’ to customers willing to spend a bit more money. The package ‘is available to prepare Aygo Fire and Aygo Ice inside and out for the scuffs and scrapes of everyday driving’ and features rear parking sensors, mud flaps, carpet mats, a rear bumper protection plate and side protection mouldings.

Alternatively, buyers can chose the ‘Style Pack’, which offers rear chrome trim, aluminium scuff plates and a chrome exhaust pipe and 14” alloy wheels.
