Toyota GT 86 to cost less than £25k

Pricing for the much anticipated GT 86 has been announced today, with prices starting at £24,995.

Going on sale in June this year, the GT 86 is one half of a project completed between Toyota and Subaru, with Subaru producing its own BRZ, although prices haven’t been announced for that yet.

There aren’t any real technical specs yet, other than the basic details on the engine, power, torque and gearbox (2 litre turbocharged engine, 197bhp, 205Nm and a 6-speed manual).

Toyota fans and driving enthusiasts alike are looking forward to getting behind the wheel, as the GT86 offers something that cars like the Celica never provided: rear wheel drive.

Orders are already being taken, which normally would seem brave considering the lack of firm specifications, but judging by the reviews cropping up all over the automotive press, we’re not surprised.
