Video: 2017 Kia Rio First Edition Review!
The all-new Rio First Edition is the highest spec 2017 Rio you can buy, and not only does it have an all-new face but it has an all-new engine, too.
The Rio marks the first time Kia has introduced a turbocharged, three-cylinder engine into the range, and in the Rio it comes in the form of a 1.0 litre with either 99bhp or 118bhp. Given how much time has passed since Ford first dropped a small, three-pot engine into a small car it wouldn’t be rude to say Kia has taken its time, but it’s better late than never.
So where does the ‘First Edition’ name fit in? First Edition is the absolute highest spec you can buy, and something of a celebratory name tag that’s only available for the first few months, after which ‘First Edition’ changes to the trim level ’4′. As the highest spec Rio on sale it’s only available with the more powerful 118bhp engine, so if you’re looking to find out more about the lesser powered three-cylinder or the other engines in the Rio range you can read what we thought of them here.
Our full Rio First Edition written review will be out in the next few days. For the time being, enjoy the video!
