Video: Drifting the McLaren P1
While some had criticised the P1 for being too sterile and devoid of personality even before it was released (not to mention “it would be better without batteries and just a V8”), the majority of press feedback has been positive, to say the least.
A twin-turbo, 3.8 litre V8 combined with an electric motor combined to produce 903 bhp and 721 lb/ft of torque will not be dull, as Chris Harris explains.
Whenever you watch a P1 video or see one in real life, just remember: 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 in 6.8, 0-186 in 16.5, and a top speed of 217 mph. Oh, and a rather ridiculous 38mpg.
All for a very reasonable £866,000 – top work, McLaren.
