Video: Homage to the Mercedes C63 AMG
Twenty years ago, the idea of a car having more than 500 bhp would have seemed a little bit like overkill, and yet today, as the C63 parts our company, it does so with 507 bhp. In a saloon car.
Not only that, but the C63 has proved to BMW that the M3 won’t have the market place all to itself.
DRIVE’s Chris Harris explores the C63’s rather excitable chassis, and examines the Edition 507.
Within the next year or two, the C63 will be replaced by its successor, said to have a twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8. It’ll have more power, more torque, and be more efficient, but it still has quite an act to follow.
