VW Introduces Five Door Up

VW has today announced that it will be introducing a five door Up alongside its three door sibling.

It’s the same length as the three door, with a 2420 mm wheelbase, and the same 250 litre boot, and interior space is the same too, although VW hasn’t gone as far as Mercedes when launching a new car by actually measuring passenger elbow room.

The new Up really is the same as the three door, with the addition of two doors.

All the same options are available, including Hydraulic Brake Assist, Isofix child seat preparation, ESP (an option on the most basic model but standard on the others), and the City Emergency Braking system costing £225, which uses radar to apply the brakes before an accident occurs.

The main option to look for is the ‘Maps & More infotainment system’ – something of a hyped up sat-nav, but rather intuitive and helpful when you need.

Dealers will receive the three door in March with prices starting at £7,995, and the five door will arrive later on in the year.
