Who’ll Be Driving at Goodwood – A List of Legends
If you’re heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a few weeks, be sure to keep an eye out for the insane number of motoring legends due to attend for the 20th Anniversary festival.
From the world of F1, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Roman Grosjean, Max Chilton, Jules Bianchi, Sebastian Buemi, Marc Gene, Nick Heidfeld, Heikki Kovalainen and Adrian Newey will be around for the four day event.
Nick Heidfeld will be one to watch, as he will be reunited with his McLaren MP4/13 that set the Goodwood record of 41.6 seconds in 1999. New F1 cars have been told to take it easy on the hill, but it’s still possible he might want to chase his old time…
In all honesty, though, the classic F1 racer list is even more impressive, with the likes of Alain Prost, Nelson Piquet, Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, John Surtees, Nick Heidfeld, Jochen Mass, Emerson Fittipaldi and Rene Arnoux already confirmed to blast up the hill.
Away from F1, the world of Rallying will be well represented with Andreas Mikkelsen, Carlos Sainz, Mikko Hirvonen, Juha Kankkunen, Björn Waldegård, Rauno Aaltonen, Jimmy McRae, Hannu Mikkola and Russell Brookes.
Not only that, but NASCAR, Indycar, Superbikes, World Sports Cars, Touring Cars, WEC, and Land Speed Record breakers will be well represented too.
Essentially, the 2013 Festival will be a “Who’s Who” or worldwide racing from the last 60 years. Don’t miss out – tickets for Saturday the 13th have already sold out.
